Jambo and hakuna matata! Swahili for hi and no worries. Though I almost start singing that song from The Lion King every time I hear those words, it’s just the way you greet one another in this part of the world. Yes, we’ve left grey, cold and rainy Scandinavia to celebrate Christmas on a paradise beach near equator.
For many years we’ve spent a few weeks every winter in Thailand looking for the perfect place with idyllic empty beaches, peace and quiet, good food and no Danish people. And we did find all these things. Just never all at the same time. But now we found it in Africa. 9 little basic huts placed on an almost endless stretch of white sand with turquoise waters and not a white person in sight. And the food is outstanding (and healthy too!) which is rare when you chose to live far away from everything.
But I won’t bore you with my descriptions of this beautiful place. Instead I’ll annoy you a little bit with photos from this beautiful little gem. Please bear with me! When the holidays are over, this blog will once again be full of delicious low carb recipe and inspiration for a healthier 2016.
I wish you all a happy Christmas. Remember to enjoy every parts of it, no matter how you choose to indulge.

Crazy beautiful beaches, right? My next postcard will be from StoneTown. The main town on Zanzibar. Really interesting place but also a sharp contrast to the tourist life on the beach.
