Surely, I’m not the only one who bought a large pack of chia seeds for all their claimed health benefits and then started making chia pudding or chia crackers (both delicious btw) but then ran out of ideas of what to do with the rest!
Well, I started making chia sprouts and that’s such a feel good project. I have the kids helping me and they take it really seriously and water them every day when they come home. We all really enjoy watching them grow, and I especially enjoy decorating my food with these little green sprouts once they’re done.
CHIA SPROUTS

- organic cotton or hemp mat
- water
- time and patience
INSTRUCTIONS
2. Drizzle chia seeds onto the cotton and leave it in your window or somewhere sunny.
3. Check them daily and water them so the cotton never gets dry. After a few days, you’ll see tiny sprouts and after 5-6 days, your sprouts are ready to eat.
Do you think damp paper towel would work?
