Broccoli fries

Broccoli with bacon, roasted almonds and parmesan - the perfect LCHF side dish --> MyCopenhagenKitchen.com

So how do you get your family to eat broccoli? Easy! You make them broccoli fries! It’s such a simple and easy idea but they’re incredibly tasty.

Having broccoli fries as a side dish instead of regular fries is an easy way to cut carbs without really noticing it. If you serve them with a tasty dipping sauce (like mayo mixed with smoked paprika which is my favorite), they get even tastier!

SERVES 2 PERSONS

  • 1 head of broccoli
  • plenty of olive oil or melted butter
  • salt

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F.

2. Slice you broccoli from the top and all the way down the stalk so you end up with long “fries” with the floret on top. If the floret is too big, cut the whole thing in half.

3. Toss the broccoli fries in olive oil or melted butter and arrange them in a single layer on a nonstick baking sheet. Drizzle with salt.

4. Bake in oven for 25-30 minutes (toss them once or twice to ensure more even baking) or until they start to brown in the florets.  Take out of oven, drizzle with some more salt and serve.
